I couldn’t be more excited about what my dear friend Dave Terpstra and the wonderful people Kimba Langas is leading at Free the Girls are doing. CNN did a story on them that appeared this week on their efforts to fight human trafficking. Having been friends with Dave for a long time it has been truly amazing to see how a small idea has turned into a kingdom success.
Free the Girls, very simply, helps to free women from the sex trade by taking used bras and sending them to Mozambique to be repaired and sold by the women who were trapped in the sex trade. The used clothing market is such there in Mozambique that they can earn living wages selling these bras.
Well CNN has a three part series on Free the Girls that has run this week. You can find part 1 here, part 2 here, and part 3 here. It is frankly an act of God that Dave and the FTG’s team are featured on CNN. It is CNN after all. I am just glad one of my friends is on CNN for a good reason!
You can make donations to Free the Girls here at their website or buy some of the really awesome t-shirts that help this mission as well. I have bought several for Gretchen and she loves them. God is doing amazing things through this connection!
