Do I really have this much to say?
I started blogging on February 14, 2006 and in the almost four years since I have now written 500 blog entries. That equates out to 125 a year or one about every three days. That is more discipline and consistency that my life has usually known, so for that I am celebrating. In honor of this momentous occasion here is a mega post with a massive amount of ramblings to celebrate. If you make it all the way to the end I will be impressed.
When I set out to start writing four years ago my goal was simply to offer thoughts on what it means to serve God and to live a holy life. It has expanded beyond that in humorous and soul stretching ways, but at the core that is still my desire for this blog. I can say that regardless of the impact on anyone else the discipline of writing and the subjects I have worked to write on have certainly taught me about holiness in many ways.
I wonder, however, as to how long this discipline will stay a part of my life. With blogging being such a recent phenomenon I have to stop and think about whether or not I will be doing it five years from now. Who knows, if I am I hope I will still have something to say.
One thing this blog has proven is that the burning questions of people’s lives are, “Who is the greatest lead singer in rock history”, “What is the greatest TV Show ever”, and “What is the greatest rock song ever”. I hope I have helped people find the answers that they are looking for.
LOST Thoughts
After the LOST premier last night I have to say that LOST has almost evened up to The Wire for my vote on the greatest TV show ever.
The smoke monster is that mysterious dude with no name? Jacob is dead? Is Jacob the one who keeps appearing as Christian? Are we onto parallel universes now? Is that what happened? Did any see them adding a whole new layer to the island with another group of mysterious Others? Those dudes are awesome.
The actor who plays Sawyer has really come into his own. The emotional gambit he showed last night was amazing. He is so good, how come I have never seen him in anything else?
They handled Jack so well in that episode. Did you notice how warn down and aged he looked by the end of the show? The time travel, explosions, violence and pressure of their fight for their lives can all be seen as lines in his face.
Did Jacob come back to life as Sayid to battle the smoke monster masquerading as Locke? That would be awesome.
How soon before Sawyer tries to get over Juliet by sleeping with Kate?
These are the questions burning my head now!

Congrats!
Lost was craaaazzzzyyy! Why are so many things different on the plane this time (i.e.- Hurley still has good luck, Shannon isn’t with Boone)? What or who is trying to keep them all in the airport after they land? What is the connection between John’s body and Christian’s body being flown overseas and then being taken over by people. In response to Jack being angry at the airline for losing his father’s remains John says, “How would they know where your dad is? They lost his body not him.” I think that’s a very important line (I paraphrased based on memory.)
District 9 was one of the most unique movies I have seen in a long time! Sharlto Copley’s character’s transformation from the beginning to the end was incredible!

I had the same thought about the line the John said. There is a definite connection between the dead body transportation and the reanimation aspect. That is why I am trying to sort through the Sayid/Christian/Jacob connundrum, not to mention Charlie’s coming back to life and visiting Hurley also.
Yeah the changes on the plane were fascinating. Sawyer giving Hurley advice so no one takes advantage of him and Desmond being on the plane were also great plane changes.

And you are right Sharlto Copley’s character was one of the most enjoyable and interesting ones that I can remember for a long time.

We finally watched Lost tonight, so I came over to see what you’d said about it. Thanks for warning me away earlier!
I’m really, really looking forward to seeing what they do with this. But it sure seemed like the dead bodies were piling up for a while there!
I have all kinds of questions, guesses, etc. I’m trying to just let them all float away, not let any of them take root in my brain, because I know I won’t have any answers until the next episode (and the one after that, and the one after that…).
