Double Church Fail

Religion Fail

I had to point you towards two good ones today.

First is this article about a church in NC (thankfully not my old one) that is burning books and Bibles, if they aren’t the King James Version.

Second is this picture from fail blog, the humor in it is beautiful. Have a good one.

So what can we do to love the flock of 14 people at Amazing Grace Baptist Church? I was in Canton, NC last weekend at a retreat center owned by the Episcopal Church. It is gorgeous country, but they are really OUT THERE. It’s Cold Mountain…really. This little flock is living in fear and misunderstanding. What can we do to help them? Let’s do something for them.

Great question, I would love to hear some suggestions. Aside from entering into a relationship with them and stating clearly that although we don’t understand what they are doing we want to love them, I have no idea. The reality is that there would probably be very little to do. I guess you could buy them matches or wood, but that may not be helpful in the big picture.

Buy them matches and wood and tell them I am a female pastor….hmmmmm…where would that all bring us…backwards!?

Did I tell you I’m dressing up as Joan of Arc for Halloween?

BTW I’ve got two interviews next week for PT jobs!!!! PRAY!

i always knew billy graham was satanic, what with his emphasis on the “gospel” and exemplary life of faith. thanks for the article. i’ll have a lot fewer books to bring with me to mozambique after i burn most of them.

p.s. when ever the KJV only people would stop by tnl (usually twice a year) i told them i didn’t depend on “man’s” translations but read the original greek and hebrew the way God wrote it. that seemed to piss them off for some reason.

We should bring some marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers for s’mores over the book fire.
