Maryland won and is the highest ranked ACC team and they might not win another game all season, the Redskins as I have predicted for three weeks lost and I will be very surprised if they make the playoffs, Hillary Clinton might be Sec. of State and for some reason this doesn’t terrify me, I led my first finance meeting yesterday and really enjoyed it and it is snowing outside. So let’s find some mentally stimulating ideas to muse about.
Some interesting linkage

I was Installed, that sounds weird
Yesterday was my installation service at DCC. The installation service is a time of making commitments and officially embarking on the task of serving God together as a church and pastor. It was a beautiful day of worship. My District Superintendent was there as the installer I would guess you could call him, and the church and I engaged in a beautiful liturgy of covenant. Even though I have been here for almost a month and have already preached twice, yesterday everything began to feel a little different. There was a different feeling of responsibility and weight that came with the service. There was also great joy and humility from what I experienced. I made a covenant with my church and I am including it so you can what I have committed to as the pastor of DCC.
In response to God’s call and in gratitude for the confidence you have expressed in me, I promise to use the gifts, graces and resources God has invested in me wisely, and covenant to work with you to make Duneland Community Church a dynamic and effective church:
…a church where worship is a priority and is focused on God
…a church grounded on the Word of God
…a church where a heart for the lost defines everything we do
…a church where believers are nurtured to grow strong in the faith
…a community that lives together in holy love
I commit to fulfilling my responsibilities as pastor:
…to live as an example of a godly husband and father
…to lead you into God’s presence through corporate worship
…to preach the Word with passion and clarity
…to be a leader who casts vision and empowers other leaders
…to reach our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ
…to equip believers to utilize their spiritual gifts
…to celebrate the sacraments
…to encourage, comfort and guide you as your pastor
…to enable the ministry of caring, working closely with all of
you to celebrate Christ’s healing presence
…to cooperate with the District and General Church of the
Nazarene in fulfilling the Great Commission
Greg the NWI Weather Man’s Report
So it is snowing and has been since yesterday. But it is just flurries. Tonight there will an inch or two that will fall, probably, or if the wind shifts we may get a foot. Seriously, where the wind blows determines whether we get our snow or the snow for two other states. Despite Maggie’s assertion that I am definitely not The Edge, I have taken to wearing my ski cap inside quite often. I like the Edginess of it. Welcome to Indiana!

What do Greg Arthur and digital satellite TV have in common? Both had to be installed by a professional!
Hey, Greg, as I was trying to click through to some of those links you shared, I kept getting annoyed by that Snap preview window. I know it’s supposed to be helpful, but it was actually making it more difficult to preview where the link was pointing in the browser’s status bar and more difficult to actually click the link! Is that a feature that you like? If so, it’s your blog, so by all means, keep it!
If not, I think you can switch it off…

Since your hair is providing little or no insulation in your current season of life maybe you should just go for it…shave your head. That would truly be living a little closer to the edge.

I could see Greg doing a Clark W. Griswald Christmas Vacation sledding event.

Rich,
I don’t know if I have power over the snap preview or not, I agree they are annoying.
Maggie,
I will definitely one day reach the shaved head stage, but I am holding off for a while. I think will be around the 40th birthday or so when I will desire to reinvent myself. The problem is of course is that all white men with shaved heads look like convicts.
A Weather Update…..
We had about 4-5 inches last night and I got a good shoveling the drive way work out in. The kids got a chance to go out and play in the snow because of a 2 hour delay. It was nice. Ask me again in 2 or 4 months and I might be a little tired of it by then.
