The venture into being a soccer family has been really humorous. Sophie had her first game today and it was definitely worth the price of admission. You have to love sporting events where a snack and juice box are the highlights. At the end of the game there was of course the spirit tunnel. We need to create a liturgical spirit tunnel I think. Whose spirits aren’t picked up by a spirit tunnel. We need to do them at work, at church, in worship, in our homes. They are the best. So here is a little spirit tunnel love for you. Run through with arms raised and voices yelling and enjoy your day.

greg– spent thursday night and friday morning with your magnificent inlaws in fayetteville. bill m. asked me if i would serve as a translator for holiness reeducation for him.
on a blogpost related note– no kidding– when tiffani was growing up in the first assembly of god church of north little rock, arkansas (a.k.a. dog town), they actually made “Holy Spirit” tunnels, akin to the one at the soccer game. they would call all who wanted the Holy Ghost to come through the tunnel. tiff tells of going through the tunnel with her friends and afterwards asking each other, “did you get it?” fun stuff. try that one sunday.

JD,
Thanks for translating for Bill. I am sure that most of the time he looks at my topics, rolls his eyes and moves on.
Thanks for looking after our Maggie! She is awesome and we couldn’t be prouder of her.
I am so going to figure out a way to have a Holy Spirit tunnel. This intrigues me greatly!
Blessings-
Greg

Greg,
Totally awesome. Sophie looks like she is having a blast. I really enjoyed the kid who walked through with the arms crossed and got the kick. That would be my kid, when I have them.

Oh by the way, Holy Spirit Tunnel, have everyone leave church in the way you celebrate a baseball win. High-fives down the line.

The kid with his arms crossed kind of goose stepping is our next door neighbor, he cracks me up. That is mom he kicks him in the rump. That’s what moms are for.
I also like the idea of getting together after the service and forming two lines to meet in the middle and slap hands with everyone.
Or maybe we all gather in the middle of the sanctuary, kneel down and pray to celebrate the service like at the end of many NFL games. I am thinking about this one and I am going to create something!

When you do, let us know, I’ll be on the first flight back to Chapel Hill.

Whatever you do…don’t go to the middle of a sanctuary in Miami and stomp the logo!
