I hate cheerleaders. I know hate is strong, but I confess. I thought about the Moose, but it's too Canadian. What's Treo, anyway? Maybe I can lead the pineapple party. It is a fruit and being fruitful is good. It's also sweet, hospitable, makes people happy, grow in warm places, is a little prickly AND you can eat it on a toothpick. Perfect!

Greg-

Sadly you're right. I have been lurking on your blog for a while...waiting for a hot topic to pounce on (and of course a shameless plug for Toyota by Mags). Yes I've been lurking on your blog on my Dell(R) computer drinking Folgers(C) brand coffee (cof-fay). Grits rock! That is a drawback of marrying a Buffalo-gal...no grits! I need a fix man...just plug it in my vein!

Anyhoo-Ramblin' time. Everybody is talking about the upcoming Democratic smackdown, but I don't see it happening. You have the staunch red and blue voters that will vote their party regardless, so no matter what happens they will justify it and still vote that party. The swing voters will weigh in and probably more so on the Dems side this time, but I agree with Shannon...I don't think there will be a total power shift in Congress. The Republicans have been bumbling in the public eye for a while now and it just seems to keep piling on, but the Dems don't have a unified, concrete stance on the major issues, so they aren't presenting a valid solution other than being the non-Republican party. Maggie...why don't you resurrect the Bull-Moose party? Sponsored by Toyota(R) "Bull-Moose...Moving Forward"(C).

I too have been avoiding HD...I don't need another addiction in my life (fantasy football, iPod(R), Treo(C), grits). I'm...I'm a shell of a man! Cheerleaders though. Yes, not only do they belond in professional sports...they belong everywhere! I think we all deserve our own cheering squad, but then who would cheer for the cheering squad? I think the physical world would implode.

Thats it for now, I'm going to paperpineapple and comment...Did I mention that Dole(R) brand pineapples are the only pineapples?

I'll jump in with a politics comment. I recently heard about this book/arthur on my favorite news show, the Daily Show. The book is <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Gods-Politics-Right-Wrong-Doesnt/dp/0060558288/sr=8-2/qid=1161808010/ref=pd_bbs_2/104-0417639-1863932?ie=UTF8&s=books" rel="nofollow">God's Politics</a> by Jim Wallis.

He was very impressive on The Daily Show, and I'm very interested in reading the book. There is a lot of (obviously) discontent with politics in the US, and espcially I think among Christians.

Studio 60 is sweet. And, if you really want to get pumped about a tv show, <a href="www.24trailer.com/" rel="nofollow">Jack Is Back</a>

I'm a Republican In Name Only myself. Take a moment for that to sink in, Greg. I almost switched my registration to Unaffiliated a few weeks ago because of my distate for the Republican Party. I decided to stick with them because the prospect of being in political Switzerland doesn't appeal to me and the Democrats are as you described them. I would love for a new party to be created, one that truly holds to a limited government spending, limited tax model. Both parties want to spend more than I would like.

I think the Republican Party is destined for a beatdown it so desperately deserves for being so consumed by the same power the leadership complains that the Democrats so desire. It's all about power in politics. I think it is going to be close on control of the House and Senate. Right now, I think Republicans will maintain a one or two vote margain in the House and a one vote maragain in the Senate, creating a 2008 election that will be one of the nastiest on record.

As for Obama, I like some of his ideas. I think he needs some more experience in the Senate, but he is taking the road President Kennedy took in the 1950s before being elected in 1960 - gain national attention through a book and appeal to members of both political parties. (By the way, I think Kennedy was one of the best leaders of the 20th century.) I would consider him a darkhorse right now. As for Republicans being against him because he's black, I don't know how much I would put into that. Had Lynn Swann been more competitive in the Pennsylvania governor race, there would have been talk of him being a presidential candidate in 2008.

As for 2008, it's a wide-open race. The Democrats are going to have Hillary Clinton and John Edwards as the top candidates. I would have loved to have seen Mark Warner, the former governor of Virginia, make a run, but he bowed out a few weeks ago. On the Republican side, set-up a ring, call Vince McMahaon and charge people money to watch what will be a brawl for not only the nomination but control of the party in general. Newt Gingrich is making noise for a run. You'll have John McCain, Rudy Gulliani, George Allen, Mit Romney, and a few others in consideration. Jeb Bush would've been a solid choice, had his last name not been Bush.

Good for you on your crusade against TV. The truth is once you go HD you can't go back. So just don't go there. Live in a world free of the dynamic color displays that make images better looking than real life. It is like crack for the eye.

I will join you in your new political party as long as we have a cool animal as our mascot. I am thinking an Armadillo or an Orynx or a King Cobra, no one ever makes fun of the King Cobra. I am commenting on your blog as soon as I leave this reply.

Well, I could care less about anything offered on TV. I don't care how big or clear the image is on the screen. I would be happy to toss them all into the street and drive over them with my Tacoma. That sounds extreme, huh?

I too am and have always been a Republican according to my voter registration, but have no sense of what this means in reality. Not much. I want a new party. I'm making up my own in my head. Want to join? It will be a winner, I promise.

As for diet...moderation, my friend.

No one ever (hardly) comments on my blog. Perhaps I am a controversial, non-trivial gal. Maybe something else? As long as people begin to think, maybe in a new way then I'm good with it. They can keep their comments to themselves. I will just rattle on. Peace!
