Driscoll is just a traditionalist masquerading as an emergent. I think true Emergent’s and Postmoderns stand for equality and should protest and expose Driscoll’s sexist hypocrytical views.

I was going to say, if the Emerging church doesn’t make you cuss, I guess nothing will. Good to know you at least have the temptation to drop a bomb when you get riled up.

I am “chewing” on your question. If the liberal nature of the emergent church did/does make Driscoll cuss, I can almost understand his propensity towards the profane.

Well, having read the whole book I agree with Driscoll on a lot of things, disagree with him on a lot of things, and think that his disagreements with the Emerging Church are both correct and wrongly directed. But, I am not surprised that out of anything in that book that would be the one thing you would mark.

Do you still agree if that point makes him cuss?

Hey Greg,

I have not read the entire book…just excerpts.

No pastor should be cussing or using vulgarity.

However, I did appreciate the quote from pages 20 and 21 relative to the emergent church:

“The emergent church is the latest version of liberalism. The only difference is that old liberalism accomodated modernity and the new liberalism accomodates postmodernity”…on this point Driscoll and I agree.
